'Agog' - fotoreeks Brugge

Elena Aya Bundurakis trok voor citybooks de stad Brugge in met ‘agog eyes’: grote, gretige ogen. Ze ging op zoek naar onderhuidse elementen die een inzicht in de stad geven dat verder gaat dan schilderachtige neogotische ansichtkaarten. Onderweg zag ze bouwwerven, vervuiling, sociale huisvesting in schijnbaar pittoreske gebouwen, isolement, industriële zones, binnenplaatsen. In haar foto’s vervaagt de grens tussen organisch en kunstmatig materiaal en in details ontdek je verwijzingen naar het historische en religieuze verleden van Brugge en naar de haven. De reeks biedt een haast tactiel, licht onheilspellende stadsportret. Achter haar middeleeuwse façade lijkt Brugge verscholen te zitten als een grommend stedelijk organisme.

In her photos, the boundary between organic and artificial material has blurred and in details you discover references to the historical and religious past of Bruges and to its port.
